Stop-motion animation - Short film

Saleeg is a Saudi-Arabic stop-motion animation animated in Amsterdam. Using an international team we brought Afnan Bawyan’s vision to life. In the streets of Jeddah we follow a woman cooking a rice dish, Saleeg. After receiving unexpected news her cooking seems to take on a life of its own. Overwhelmed she is forced to ask for help and hereby confront her stubborn nature. 

Saleeg was screened at film festivals, including Annecy in 2023.

As a young animator this was my first project with puppets of this caliber. It was an amazing challenge, where I learned a lot from the collaboration with the other talented animators.
