Stop-motion animation - Short film

The Chameleon is my directorial debut.

In collaboration with 5AM Studios and Patrick Raats as screenwriter this project became a reality through the Ultrashort procedure of the Dutch film fund. I was granted the creative freedom to execute the project as I imagined it. A completely clay animated film. The film was screened as a short film before two feature films in Dutch cinemas. 

It was screened at 36 film festivals and got a nomination for best Dutch short film at Cinekid. The Chameleon premiered at the Dutch film festival in 2022.

The story follows an angsty chameleon faced with many dangers. Yet he choses neither fight nor flight, he choses to disguise himself instead. Changing colours he relaxes, only to be put in more danger soon after. What happens when his colours only seem to get him into more danger than before?
